Healthy eating doesn’t need to be hard or boring! We love to cook simple food that is full of flavour and nutritious, without spending hours slaving away in the kitchen!

We believe an individualised nutrition plan is key to optimal sports performance. You spend hours & hours training, but if you haven’t got your nutrition sorted it can be harder to reach your goals.  Spend a little time on your nutrition to improve your health, maintain your desired body composition & enhance performance in your sport. It’s cheaper than buying a new bike!

Taryn is an Accredited Practising Dietitian & Advanced Sports Dietitian with over 12 years of experience.

Sports nutrition is her passion & she founded Dietitian Approved to help people eat for both Health and Performance in sport and life. She takes a very non-BS approach to teaching you how to eat to best support your training and racing goals. Endurance sports are her speciality but Triathlon is her main jam. 

She also consults to Triathlon Australia, looking after our Australian Triathlon and Para-Triathlon team. The mix of private practice and elite sport is her absolute dream job! It also means that elite level, best-practice and evidence-based nutrition is passed on to the everyday “athlete” so you can be assured you’re getting the best nutrition information there is.

Taryn is also a trained Anthropometrist, which means she is qualified to assess body composition with skin folds to the international standard.

As an everyday “athlete” herself, Taryn knows first-hand the demands training has on your lifestyle. Growing up she balanced a heavy swimming load with netball & she now competes in Sprint & Olympic distance triathlons while dabbling in a bit of gym.

Leslie Benjamin

Administration / Wing woman

Leslie is our behind the scenes wing woman who you’ll have the pleasure of speaking with and emailing when you book an appointment. She keeps us under control so we can focus on doing what we do best – being Sports Dietitians.

Leslie is addicted to boxing and lifting weights and when she’s not responding to emails, you can find her in the gym beating up the boys. Her favourite food is a popular Filipino soup dish – Sinigang na Baboy (Pork in Sour Broth). Although we’re always trying to get her to eat more vegetables 🙂
